Apply for a Scholarship
Please read all of this information. Failure to submit all items needed for this request will automatically disqualify your child from receiving a scholarship for the Summer Science Camp.
We, along with our partners, are pleased to offer a limited amount of scholarships to families who demonstrate a need. In order to receive a scholarship, we require some form of verification of eligibility to be sent (TANF paperwork or proof of free or reduced lunch). Finally, you must submit a letter describing why you are applying for a scholarship and why you believe it’s important for your child to attend the Summer Science Camp. Also, if you cannot volunteer at SSC, please explain why.
It is very important to a child’s success in school that parents be involved in the learning of their children. Therefore, students who have a parent/guardian volunteering at the Summer Science Camp on their behalf will receive greater consideration for financial assistance. Due to the large amounts of Scholarship Applications we receive each year, we strongly recommend that you volunteer on behalf of your child at the Summer Science Camp.
All verifications, letters, and applications must be mailed to the address below and received no later than May 1, 2015. If your child is selected to receive a scholarship, you will be notified by phone by June 1st, with instructions on how to complete the registration process. If you do not hear from us by that date, you can call us at (562) 458-3354. Please do not call before June 15, regarding whether or not your child received a scholarship.
